Literacy Test Dashboard
As the product expanded its assessment offerings, the existing teacher and admin dashboard needed to evolve to support new assessment types without disrupting an already onboarded user base.
I led the end-to-end design process, establishing a user research foundation from scratch, recruiting participants from the existing user base, and running ongoing interviews to uncover key pain points: confusing column labels, unclear next-step guidance, and misleading data states when assessments were incomplete.
Insights from testing revealed that teachers defaulted to the app's suggestions simply because the data wasn't legible enough to act on independently. Working within tight technical and product constraints (including the risk of disrupting teachers mid-school year) I designed an enhanced dashboard that preserved familiar patterns while introducing clearer data hierarchies, actionable next steps, and flexible views tailored to how different assessment types are best interpreted (per-assessment vs. aggregated).
The result was a more intuitive experience that empowered teachers to make informed instructional decisions with confidence.
